MELBOURNE (Dow Jones)--CSR Ltd. (CSR.AU) on Wednesday posted a full year net loss of A$111.7 million as the Viridian glass business continued to weigh on earnings.
The building products and sugar company reported a A$326.5 million loss in the previous year.
The result was weighed down by A$300.2 million in significant items, including a A$250 million writedown on the carrying value of Viridian, which it disclosed at its half-yearly results last October.
It said in a statement that revenue in the year to March 31 was A$3.75 billion, compared with A$3.5 billion in the same period last year.
Earnings before interest and tax was A$364.1 million, exceeding the company's guidance of a result slightly higher that last year's A$320.1 million.
The company declared a final dividend of 6.0 cents, up from 1.5 cents a year ago.
Net profit excluding one-off items was A$173.4 million, up from A$134.0 million.
The market had expected net profit before one-offs of A$158.3 million, according to estimates from four analysts compiled by Dow Jones Newswires.
