I think there were a couple of interesting announcements this week, perhaps it's the second that has got someone excited:
(1) CT1 and BUD sign distribution agreements with DDR. Yes, good news but quite frankly distribution agremeents are signed at least monthly and unless one of these turns out to be very significant I doubt it will be a game changer for DDR (and for BUD especially it's not a sole distributorship, there are others including Telstra in the game).
(2) Amazon Australia launches today at 2:00pm. Here is a media quote: "A recent audit of Harvey Norman consumer electronics and appliance brands has revealed that more than 50% of the brands they are currently selling will be available on Amazon with distribution being made possible by a combination of CE distributors including Ingram Micro, Synnex, Dicker Data, Linfox as well as via Amazon’s own distribution centre."
Now I'm not smart enough to estimate the impact of Amazon on anything but just the mention of Dicker Data and Amazon in the same sentence might be enough to excite some people, perhaps justifiably.
