the economics

1. cost of trucking = $z/tonne x y tonnes p.a

2. cost of rail haul =$a/tonne x y tonnes p.a

benefit = $(z - a)/tonne x y tonnes p.a

Total benefit = benefit x 10 years

Cost of rail was it $34 million plus finance, contingency etc say $40m

(was all the passing ;lanes and go slow sections in the costing or was that a forlorn hope that the current owner would pay?)

anyone hazard a guess that the (z-a) x y tonnes p.a. is $4m p.a -ish?
