Ann: CUP Announcement - Acquisition of Count Financial, page-22

Looks like most of us underestimated this news on announcement day. It has since risen from $0.48 to $0.65 to $0.92.

So who is the one buying so consistently? It looks like 10x higher volume that usual, these past few weeks.

Some of us were doubting that it would go higher from $0.65, but the $97m market cap at $0.92 is not all that high for the larger combined business. Not saying that it's going higher or not, but $97m is not particularly much (depending on profit, of course).

If CBA was willing to sell Count for a low price, then I imagine there are few players looking for an acquisition at the moment, so it would not be anybody looking to takeover the company, but simply an investor seeing it as cheap.
