Adjustments to announcements point to some laxity or inefficiencies within a company's operations and I agree with you that such errors never reflect well on the company they emanate from. However I think that the price movement in this case does reflect the usual over reaction which the market tends to have today. The more astute investors will do their homework and work out what they think the announcement means in changes in the company metrics and if they think that the market has underpriced the stock they will seize the opportunity and buy. I have bought under such circumstances before and I will say that I have not always seen the price move back up again but more often than not it does if you have your maths right.
