You are absolutely right bcc but there is another alternative to another bidder. Surely continuing to operate, resume dividends as planned and continuing with the status quo.
Also do the existing company have an option of paying a special dividend now out of the accrued funds they have? They must have significant tax credits fom their ' dark years' which many of us went through I don't know the answer to that
