Garmin make great products and the Varia Radar only product is a must have from riders in rural areas where cars can be going 100km/h and come up from behind very quickly vs suburban where drivers tend to be slower and drive more cautious. I have already seen some people review the product and highlight the pros and cons, and will definitely take up some of the cycliq marketshare.
I spoke to Cycliq HQ about 3 years ago when i originally invested and they mentioned there were plans to roll out some new products. cheaper versions as well as the current top end models...to date we've yet to see anything.
