D-Day for Evergrande today (20th Sept) with Interest payment due. It is very likely that Evergrande will default on this payment and therefore the crack of the Chinese real estate market. Unless there is a solution backed by the Chinese government in the background, this crack will become a wide open gap and if so the Chinese real estate, financial, banking and eventually economy will tank.

The question is how will the Chinese investors reacts to such a possibility? Real estate, bond or corporate bond and even Chinese stock market are no-go zones and therefore to park their money, some of which will get diverted to gold or silver. Fortunately a lot of the Chinese population still believe in gold and perhaps some of the Chinese investors may pre-empt what may be coming and therefore we MAY even start to see gold price rising sharply during the Asian trading hours today and that may ripple across the ponds to the European and eventually to the American markets.

Interesting time ahead and time will tell.

Evergrande said last week and before they would not be able to make the interest payments on debt repayments due this week - hence the share proce and hence the bond prices continued to be shredded

Btw - China injected 100 billion yuan into markets via liquidity repos Friday night

Chinese interest rate decision is usually today as well
