A BLOCKBUSTER merger of Xstrata and Glencore International is tipped as the Swiss commodities trader finalises plans for an IPO. Closely held Glencore plans to sell as much as $US10 billion of its shares by June in Hong Kong and London, according to people familiar with the matter.
At $US10bn, the IPO would be the fourth-biggest on record in Europe, according to Dealogic........(continued)

We will find out no doubt if indeed the buy back intensity of late is because a big,big offer is close at hand.
