I'm failing to see how buying back 24k of shares per day is achieving anything.

I'd been promised a substantial cash return and that's what I'd like to see. Then we just sit there with our IAU shares, a small amount of sustaining capital in the company, and Kitumba waiting for a miracle on 34th street with the copper price or some opportunistic Chinese company to offer us $25 million for the project tomorrow, sell it, distribute the proceeds and then hock the shell around town to some tech company with the next world beating idea.
