The counterargument to that is all advertising/branding/product development efforts will fall flat, and all you're left with is a bunch of overpaid executives squandering shareholder value.
CAT is a great example of that. I prefer conservative, prudent management of shareholder capital even if it means the prospect of immediate returns is impaired.
