I too am much happier with a share buy back. Unfranked dividends in Australia are useless to me. Capital gains are discounted 50% for shares held over a year. Buying shares back when cash in the company yields 2% and the underlying cash earnings of the company per share are around 30% of the share price is a no brainer.
