the clever NZ govt is probably looking at ways to transition Manapouri output from Tiwai to address future energy needs.
if you want an inquiry into coal imports, do you also want one for cheap clothing imports from China, Bangladesh and Myanmar? Perhaps the clever Aus govt and it's PM (who is it this month?) could initiate that one as soon as they deal with the kerfuffle over the concentration camps they're contracting out to near and dear neighbours.
