@Stumpedup. You have summarised my frustration EXACTLY !
The managers (non) performance has been going on for years, irrespective of the state of the market.
JB is undoubtedly a narcissist, and despite the results of the fund, believed that he is correct, or, will be correct eventually. And that is our problem, he is NOT adding value, or taking as you say, a strong position either way, and our fund... (and it IS... OUR fund) is going nowhere. we haven’t even got a high interest environment to try and claw back some of our losses. The frustrating part is, that even if we were to wind up the fund at somewhere close to NTA, JB is not even adding a significant amount to the NTA.
We are the losers in every respect. JB is the only winner as he keeps stuffing up, but continues to clip the ticket and collect his fees while he does so. Signed.... Frustrated PJ.
