Correction - Cotton's price is not directly proportional to the oil price but sythetic fibres are (ATM). In the end all crop prices will have to follow energy price inflation. Otherwise the world's agricultural soils will end up as completely energy crops for biofuel production. But of course you need to acknowledge that Peak Oil is real!
