These guys reckon they will be price makers when they reach 50m litres from 16 farms - the nation produces 9.2b litres and victoria alone has 6,398 dairy farms , 5,500 litres per cow is the average , they are starting with 935 milkers from a herd of 1103 , to get to 50m litres they need 9090 milkers or a herd of around 10,000 cows - around $70m worth of farms . The scale of this project i believe needs to get bigger , more cows per hectare if thats possible , they mentioned intensive feeding , automated milking instead of employee's, more farms , then producing their own products.
