I am not suggesting it’s useless as it is good for simple stuff.
The issue with AI is to make it work requires massive investment and currently no one is making a profit from it ie they are losing money except for the companies like Nivida selling chips.
It’s just like the Dotcom boom - no one was making money from the internet 25 years ago and SPs went sky high with huge investment from tech companies only to crash. It took many years for the profits to materialise and that seems what will happen with AI hence why the mag 7 are capitalising cap ex on AI. In the Dotcom boom it was the hardware makers doing well like the chipmakers now.
My understanding is the investment required in AI is much much bigger than the early years of the internet. The jury is out whether the investment will result in good returns and who will be the winners is still not clear - it may not be the mag 7 but other stocks similar to the Dotcom boom.
