It's mostly gov dept submissions holding this up. Can we stop blaming "the greenies". It's clearly a shambolic process and/or political level interference doing the damage. The ECNT submission was surprisingly brief and could have been put aside with the slightest bit of political will from the NT Gov.
Interesting the ECNT noted there seemed to be no plan whatever from TNG to deal with the massive amount of waste product. Surely this cannot be true? If it is true this alone should result in Burton being sacked immediately IMO. The NTEPA in request for more info included on 'waste managment'. You'd think this would be the second most important requirement behind water/air concerns in an EIS.
I don't think any of the sites you propose in Aus would have anywhere near enough water. I they did I would back them, even if it meant starting again with an EIS process and an 18 month delay.
