You have something that does a better job than steroids without the side effects. You have something that can save organs that isn't toxic.

Doctors fight tooth and nail to save organs.


Off label use is legal and common in the US. According to Stat publication, RA drug Actemra, for example, has been prescribed off-label "for about 60 other conditions for which it has not completed testing for efficacy and safety."

Reimbursement is the issue, but if cost is set against organ transplant then it would be more likely imo. Even colectomy isn't cheap when you factor in a lifetime of visits to the stoma clinic and treating complications such as pouchitis.
