Whilst the article pushes the horizontal well narrative, and the cheeky reference by Rick from Energy Quest (who probably reads these threads I reckon ) fails to take into account that we did a low cost- highly experimental vertical well - the first to do so, and it's worked (just how well it's worked, is to be determined soon of course). Shell, of course, have more resources at their disposal- and don't have to release data associated with their approach, technology, and of course- expenditure. Suffice to say- they would have allocated a lot more to their endeavor, than us.
In time, of course, DD3 and potential future well programs- potentially the 500+ well program we could manifest at Grandis (with a partner) will encompass a variety of design and techniques- vertical/horizontal/slanted- whatever is needed to get an optimal outcome.
All in all though- a great article- more and more eyes on lil ol us.
