For producers, when a contract is sold it doesn’t matter who ultimately ends up with the contract. It gives them certainty of income which makes it easier to loan against.

That said, an actual 10 or 20-year supply agreement with a big customer is even better. So I don’t know how much futures will have an impact in terms of revenue predictability because at the end of the day, they don’t lock in a contract with a specific producer / it just creates demand at the Hub which producers then can fulfill.

By running two accounts longs/ shorts you can also place a contingency order at a set point if the market turns against you. Vlad.
