Thanks Klogg, yes I was surprised when I saw the price of some of the Surface Books - up to $5k for one with decent storage. I vowed some time ago never to buy a windows PC again after I purchased my first MacBook Air.
My final word on this topic, because it really is a little beside the point, is that Apple have not had a serious update of the MacBook Pro for some years, and in fact all the recommendation sites have been saying to not buy the "current" MacBook Pro for some time, in view of the fact that an upgrade was due shortly. It is this that may have caused some leakage of purchases onto to other hardware and contributed to some decent growth for the MS Surface over the last year or so.
BUT, the new Macbook Pro is expected to be released later this week, which may mean that some of the purchases of Surfaces which were made because of the lack of a suitable Apple alternative will cease.
All beside the point though, I am happy that DDR are now distributing the Surface series.
