Fortescue Metals Group has reported a 9 per cent rise in iron ore production to 9.93 million tonnes in the December quarter versus a year ago as it continues to expand in Australia.
Fortescue, Australia's third-biggest iron ore miner after Rio Tinto and BHP Billiton, also said it sold its iron ore at an average CFR of $150 per tonne dry.
Shares in Fortescue were as much as 15 cents, or 2.2 per cent, higher for the day at $6.88 in recent trading.
