They’ve spent many years “comparing” themselves to others and many times they have proven better, or so they say - but maybe there’s a few bits they don’t bring up or it’s just easier for others to keep their own. Most of if not all the previous deals have ended with the partners taking it to run against their own and then handed it back. Pfizer ? Roche round one on BBB ? Genentech aka Roche round 2 we’ll find out end of year but wouldn’t be surprised if exactly the same outcome ?
Also they often change to chase the “hot” target but it’s always 2 steps behind they can’t move as fast as big pharma so by the time PYC has something, it’s yesterdays news and pharmas all onto the next “hot” thing PYC repositions to follow .... rinse repeat.
