In all my 40 years of investing in companies, I've never known "delays" to be additive to any subsequent period's expected revenues/earnings.
For example, if a company was expecting X in total revenue/earnings for this period, but missed out on Y revenue/earnings because of delays (giving us the result X-Y) , then you'll NEVER get any subsequent period's budgeted revenues/earnings Z boosted by Y to deliver the result Z+Y.
So if X (budgeted) = 10
Y (delays) = 3
And: Z (budgeted) = 10 (say)
then there will never be an actual Z = 10+3 = 13.
