Hersheys is the main chocolate brand in US. Their milk chocolate tastes better than yowies chocolate does, but they are similar; both have a bit of a plastic feel to them. I think US consumers are obviously happy with the Hershey taste, so the measuring stick for Yowie's taste over there should be Hersheys. Yowie chocolate is definitely cut from the same cloth as Hersheys chocolate.
Over here, our main chocolate is cadbury, which has a more creamier, sticky, melt in your mouth feel. Whereas, I am not sure Hershey's or yowie chocolate would even melt. You kind of have to chew it over in the US.
I wouldn't be too worried about Aussie and UK tastes being different to US tastes. As long as US tastes are catered for (which they are) then we are fine.
