I can also imagine being a large holder of gold stocks and waking up to all the "opportunities" this morning on open. All the gold stocks were up on open.
With so many non-gold stocks down -4% or more on open, you can understand swapping out of gold miners for a profit to buy all the bargains in the non-gold sectors.
A lot of ASX200 stocks have since bounced a couple of percent from open so this swap has already paid off for large gold sellers today.
