By turning the printing presses on full blast the governments destroy the value of our purchasing power so therefore you need to hold REAL money to maintain your wealth. If they didn't print more money I wouldn't hold as much gold shares as I do. In the US most of the money they are printing is going to the rich through backstopping the share markets, bailing out corporations and hedge funds and driving up asset prices as well as pandemic proliferation. The ones who have done best out of this are Apple, Google, Amazon and Netflix meanwhile small businesses crumble. So as they print more money I will keep buying gold as dollars become worthless. US1$ first created in 1913 has a purchasing power of just 9c now which is a good reason to hold money ie: gold not currency. Good luck all.
