Share price is a lagging indicator of company financial performance. The only times I have seen director/shareholders who fixated about their company's share price the company generally failed. Directors who focus on the performance of their company, make sound commercial decisions, employ excellent people and continually innovate and seek improvements across the spectrum of their business invariably deliver improving returns for their shareholders.
Fundamental to this is excellent and accurate reporting systems, plus competent financial, people. Unfortunately BUD seemed to employ useless people in this important function. Whoever was responsible for due diligence on LIFX purchase should have been shot at the stake. No place for such incompetence in a public listed company.
