The premium will be maintained until the first hiccup on paying franked dividends. It's being held up by retirees seeking yield over everything else, including performance. WAM/WAX are now at the mercy of maintaining that yield, or see their share price and premiums disappear. Expect a lot more takeovers and acquisitions seeking to maintain franked distributions - especially when the SP is still at a premium.
