Let me propose an extreme case:
Dividends are $100.
SD sells one share.

You think local investors will head for the hills?

Obviously there will be a band and will move around somewhat. It won't matter so much in early days but as things draw to a close in x years, it will matter. At that point, if the mine still has legs someone will stump up for any SD rump of shares.

My point is expect SD to optimise as they see fit. It is not a negative, just a likely possibility to be aware of in due course so that newbies buying from, say tomorrow, don't flood the comments with doom and gloom.
