Share price downside risk is heightened by the sharp 14% EVN share price increase over the last 30 days, especially considering AUD gold was up only AUD16/oz (0.7%) during the same period.

Tuesday next week, we will see if there are material signals that EVN's unit costs have come down.

Amid labour shortages and escalating material costs, Northern Star CEO Stuart Tonkin told analysts on a quarterly call yesterday, many of those inflationary pressures were going nowhere fast.

“Probably the only cost we’re seeing come off is in fuel and all the rest are fairly steady, fairly sticky,” Tonkin said.
