Ioneer marked the close of a successful year atthe Tiehm’s Buckwheat Conservation Center,which opened in May 2023. Ioneer’s full-timebotanist concluded seed cleaning effortsyielding a total of 3,600 seeds from the plantsat the greenhouse. These seeds are currentlyunder refrigeration until their designatedgermination period (March –April 2024).In addition, we worked with the Rae SellingBerry Seed Bank to complete its seed collectionwork at Rhyolite Ridge, with a total of 8,000seeds collected.We anticipate further increasing the overallnumber of plants housed in the greenhouse forthe coming year due to higher seed productionsuccess in 2023.In 2024, Ioneer hopes to raise the germinationrate due to improved conditions resulting fromthe greenhouse construction and the wetwinter at Rhyolite Ridge in 2023.
