Gold has been "Real money" for five thousand years. So called fiat currency or money is made up out of thin air or printed or just digits. It is constantly debased every time someone gets a loan from a commercial bank and the Reserve bank when the government needs money means more dollars in the system. When you go into a bank to get a loan the money isn't there they just create it out of thin air by pressing a few buttons. We work our whole life for money which is created out of thin air which when you think about it, is mind blowing.
