The 1st part, whatever. I'm used to copping to odd bashing from our dearly departed, but most of the holders here know me, and Matty, Jalana & DLB in particular may not agree with me all the time but mostly respect my viewpoint. On that Matty, probably went a bit hard (at lunch and you) so I'm sorry, but hey it's xmas!
As for stabbing NOR, I haven't caused them much injury at all, in fact some of your fellow holders believe it was my suggestion that caused them to offer VM on a trial basis before it began surging in rankings, so back in your box please!
Your calculations are misinformed. Have a look at SYT (as I mentioned in my earlier post.
@d_l_b and a few other hold it, I don't). It is relevant from the perspective of how the Spark deal is likely structured. Refer to further posts from Shane in his replies to me for confirmation.
The deal comprises:
Once -Off: Professional services work for integrating VM into Spark's network. I'm guessing $150k for roundness. Make it whatever you like, it doesn't matter.
Recurring: Linked to uptake of VM licenses. (No-one has any idea what this is). Suffice to say NOR have been a tad ambitious in the past. My calcs took them absolutely at their word, and added some upside.
Fact is there is very little (if any) recurring revenue from Spark NZ until the App is available from Spark (hint: worth checking Spark's App updates).
You clearly have very little idea of the source of NOR's current revenue. I'll let others enlighten you. Suffice to say, much of it is non-core (SIP channels anyone) and appears to be reducing. I believe they have a Corona deal still in play with Oceaneering, but with the global players now entering UcaaS in Australia, I suspect we'll see this disappear.
Did you actually mention World Phone? LOL No, wait, you actually did! It gets better, you mentioned Google Play.
You did also mention stabbing NOR didn't you? You do realise that your CEO gets 5% of all World Phone Revenue don't you? I think they call it death by a 1000 cuts!
What was World Phone's revenue in 2015? How much did NOR spend marketing it?
Not sure about the last part of your post, are you suggesting World Voicemail has 1m+ downloads? Or was released in January? Not sure I'm confused? Either way, you are wrong.
Just a quick tip though, if you want to establish revenue for the apps you can use your own calculations, but I suggest using the real download figures.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but the official figures are somewhere between 5,000-10,000. Slightly below the 1,000,000 you mentioned.
Of course you could go to SensorTower. They'll give you a more accurate guesstimate and it will save you time time.
So, what are your projections for January, $30k? Not quite $170k is it?
@Speaker4Dead :"Oh dear, you have made a slight mistake. I'm surprised people still blindly upvoted you."
I have indeed made mistakes with the information, and i dont really care about upvotes but non the less i still would stand with the product.
i diffident actually say "World Phone" was for the contact with spark, just refencing an app in their history but ive gotten some wires crossed and this is a fair correction of my statement, but still evidence that they are producing and updating goods ( world phone has recived a few updates i see)
however i was under the impression it was currently profitable, apparently theres some more info there about "World Phone" ive missed so please share some links and facts for the new commers including myself.
"you clearly have very little idea of the source of NOR's current revenue."
a cheap shot but correct statement as ive stated already im new to NOR, please provide additional information and links not just "others will enlighten me."
" VM on a trial basis before it began surging in rankings, so back in your box please!"
sorry but again your not that important, nor i really in the scheme of things, but no need to ask others to be "back in you box please".
@japanfresh"Not sure about the last part of your post, are you suggesting World Voicemail has 1m+ downloads? Or was released in January? Not sure I'm confused? Either way, you are wrong."
the statement on the date is correct and i admit ive veered incorrectly on that bit of info. regardless, the downloads referenced was from the play store which for "world phone" and ill currently keep as my reference and not a third party app, but as a note both sensortower and the play store numbers are both indicating 1million downloads for "world phone".
fyi: the downloads and install count are based of unique ID's when it comes to apps, so even if you download it onto 100 devices with the same account its counted as 1 download, if you have evidence, not opinion that this is in some way botted, prove it please, links and assositated info.
"
@Speaker4Dead
The application you linked to, World Phone, has over 1 million downloads, but has been around since 16th July 2015. At the time, if you look back, people were excited by these 1 million downloads. It was only later that it was revealed that large sums of money were spent advertising World Phone to achieve these downloads and little revenue was being made!"
some products require advertising to sell, others dont because of word of mouth (snapchat is a good case)
if the advertising has gotten users to use the application and they become dependant, over time the losses can be recouped.
im not sure of the current ammounts currently and it sounds like not many others know, however at the next AGM ill be asking.

interesting statement and good news to hear they have more in their port folio than i thought, they maybe loosing it but its still income.

tad emotional\cycnical there for a product your not invested in japan,
not sure if you have a link or facts to back that statement but regardless i believe its good to see a CEO of a smaller company getting 5% of all sales of goods, its an enticement to have them to produce a better product for more sales. not everything has to go to the shareholders.
@growler1969
PS Are you associated with ECConnect presently or previously?
not at all just a outside invester learning about a product on the most hated on product for non holders here i believe
regardless i stand on my investment and will continue as a buy as theres a product, a product stream and active development.
@japanfresh"So, what are your projections for January, $30k? Not quite $170k is it?"
as for the revenue, ill be checking some extra facts and ill get back to this,
however if anything is to stand ill pic around 55k for the projection given xmas shutdown,
the 170k for this month as ive already mentioned could have been apart of the spark deal with a 6 month advance.
