Uranium can be the end of the coalition: Siumut ready to go - if IA steepsOn Wednesday afternoon, Erik Jensen (S) will meet with his chairman colleague Múte Bourup Egede (IA). They must assess which political goals they can achieve together as a coalition and must follow up on the rest of the election period.
As an example of a possible point of conflict, Erik Jensen highlights that the party Siumut has already approached the IA with regard to the uranium issue.- We have agreed that mineral deposits near the city, for example the rare minerals in Kuannersuit, should not be extracted. But we still want to get the raw materials industry up and running optimally, and we believe we have found a way to extract uranium-containing minerals anyway, says Erik Jensen and continues:-
