    Is anyone really suprised with this outcome?

    All announcements need to be treated with a healthy degree of scepticism, and a 6.5bil deal didn't pass the commonsense test. People who jumped into this let greed blind them to reason.

    "Should be able to believe what is announced" is an excuse for poor judgement - at the very least directors in all companies will spin annoucements for the best PR. Researching the truth behind annoucements and reading between the lines are essentials skills for investing.
