Don't forget the meaning of mineral exploration. All information derived from well planned and executed programmes of the like that professionals like Dave O'Neall embark on and execute methodically, yield very important information to go to the next planning stage. Not every drilling programme hits a hole in one, (Excusing the Pun), in fact it is an extremely rare occasion and the norm is that you get no mineralisation, of the type you seek to lead you to the next mineralised hole, in probably 90% of the holes you drill.
