The typical approach to defining a palaeovalley is to undertake a geophysical survey - eg seismic - along a transect perpendicular to the suspected valley, then follow up with drilling to confirm actual bedrock intersection depths. This is likely what APC has done. Any production wells would be placed in optimal locations - in the line of deepest, thickest, sand and not the shallow granite intersections on the valley margins.

As previously, palaeochannel brine aquifers are the process water source for almost all mining operations in the Western Australian goldfields. APC has targeted a mineralised - with SO4 - brine aquifer and there is no reason it will not perform as well as any other palaeochannel borefield, for decades.

APC may not have the playa extent as some other players, but the DFS document suggests it has enough. So - a demonstrated source of mineralised brine and room for ponds. What more do they need?
