You're a tad confused mate. The exploration holes that hit granite are not to be confused (as you have done) with production bores. Finding the basal channel position (thalweg) requires playing a game of Battleship, to pin down the location of the thalweg. Also don't get confused by the scale of the project - holes >1km apart are a long way apart. The exploration effort to characterise the aquifer and basement topography is an interative process, and drilling holes to basement is to be expected. 20% "failure" rate is low for exploration drilling in any respects.

The final production bores will obviously be sited within the most productive areas, based on the information generated by all the other drill holes and seismic data done previously. You seem to think that APC will just ignore the information generated thus far, and site a production bore in the basement granite, because whoops they've done it before 20% of the time. That's absurd. If they do hit an unexpected high spot within the channel, they'll step off to the side and drill again until they find the thalweg and the productive aquifer.

I mean...you're literally suggesting that APC has less of an idea than you do.

For me, I have some queries about the DFS. THe cost to get the SOP to port from Lake Wells in APC's DFS is $30-40 tonne. SO4, shipping from Wiluna (slightly closer to Geraldton) is quoting $80/t transport and handling.

I really do question how APC came up with this figure, because it seems excessively low.
