Sad to hear it is causing such a problem, in these days of the electronic economy I would have expected the transfer to go through much quicker ~ but as you say it does not really matter if your goals are long term.

But just on the face of it, IG deserve a big acknowledgment for jumping in and making the transfer almost seamless, 4-5 days once the delisting was complete and very little input from holders, just two short replies to their Emails if I remember correctly.
