Morning all. I popped onto this board to see if there was any news re. dividend, and can see that others have similar questions...
The Group website appears to be down at the moment, so can't access the prospectus, but from memory, it was fairly silent on the issue. However, there was a fair amount of discussion in the press at the time of the demerger:
AFR: The demerger will reduce Woolworths’ proforma sales by 20 per cent to $53.1 billion and proforma earnings by 22 per cent to $2.5 billion and leave it with net cash of about $75 million on the balance sheet. Woolworths intends to return between $1.6 billion and $2 billion to shareholders in a special dividend.
Has anyone come across any other news / discussion on this? I believe the results are due next week (26th Aug) - would imagine that we will get a better steer then.
