You summed it up perfectly, this is a fairytale.
People say "what a great announcement". I say "a picture tells a thousand words".
Why not show a video demonstration of the thing working because that IMO is how you sell the thing to the punters and demonstrate it actually DOES works.
Only reason why you wouldn't is if you don't want anyone to see it in action,
