    @scnapper

    FYI a capacitor stores energy. A battery stores Energy.

    Capacitors holds electrons on the surface of plates whether aluminium foil or atom thick graphene. Batteries hold electrons as part of a chemical reaction.

    A capacitor dischares and charges at a phenominal rate. Batteries store much more energy /vol and energy/mass but discharge and charge at more steady rate (Voltage and amps) and for longer time.

    Capacitor voltage decline and is basically dischared still holding charge but the voltage is too low to have any guts (amps).

    Given that capacitors can discharge over seconds, the only way I can see a Capacitor (as a Battery) is if you have 4 hours charge for example x 3600 secs or as a minimum 14,400 of them, and if you need 100V to drive your EV, probably closer to 100,000 of them, maybe more.

    You can imagine the onboard safety system required to control the switching, the isolation of dud single capacitors, and monitoring. One thing for a second teir Australian university to knock out a cell, another thing altogether to make something work.

    But FGR have clearly figured all that boring down stream stuff out and its no biggy.
