I don't disagree, however, all these vehicles, large and small are closed systems. The less power something draws thats more power that can be used somewhere else for computers, life support, propulsion, etc. Power management is an enormous constraint on combat platforms as every system and capability comes at a cost of space, weight, consumption, speed, etc. Reduces the power usage on any single device could mean that you could have a bigger widget for targeting systems, or life support or whatever. In the Mil space its more than just battery life.

Although i think we are effectively both arguing that this is a good problem to have.
