you drill such holes as these on detailed magnetics, gravity, maybe some low level geochem along known late faults where leakage might occur from basement mineralisation ( but highly unlikely). and if possible some ability to identify depth to basement from either existing data or maybe even a seismic line or 2.

this type of geophysics is a complete waste of time and money - i have no idea why u would do this - nice pretty pictures - it is academic and irrelevant to the real data needed to target a drill hole on the ground
