Yes, that is what is claimed Croc and the low grade that "envelops" the high grade will get mixed with the high grade by bigger amounts than the 5 percent than has been assumed.
It is warranted to compare an open pit gold mine with an open pit graphite mine when trying to determine dilution. Both are conventional drill and blast in conjunction with load and haul. It wouldn't have been relevant to compare Lindi to surface coal operations as they use strip mining with draglines removing waste overling the flat coal seam.
