Non holders have never claimed the primary crusher would not crush fresh rock. What has been said is that it will be a bottleneck because open pit blasted ore will contain a significant proportion of material greater than the grizzly opening of 500mm. Most published data on muckpile size distribution has 10 to 15 percent of fragments greater than 500mm. The existing fine ore stockpile has been generated without the pressure of production. It's too early to claim the crushing circuit a success - wait for production to begin and then assess over a 3 month period.
