Here are Lindi Jumbo’s LOM design parameters here Spid. To make a big deal about recovery is just stupid. Recovery has nothing to do with purity or specification. It’s calculated by what percentage of graphite is lost from processing. An 86.2% recovery rate just means 13.8% of potential revenues have been lost to the tailings dam as expected. To achieve 80% recovery in early commissioning would be a magnificent result. Especially now WKT and Gemcorp are now targeting the the 22.4% TGC super zone. If you don’t understand that 80% recovery of 22.5% TGC is a far greater result than 86.2% recovery of LOM 17.9% then I’m lost for words. Even a 70% recovery rate of 22.5% TGC will produce greater revenues than the processing at 86.2% for the original LOM pit shell design. This is where the $1.5mil upgrades to the back end of the plant really come into their own. Processing costs Spid are exactly the same for cut grade 10% TGC as it is for expected early years 22.5%. It just that simple. So if recovery is slightly down this will be offset by greater TGC throughput. You don’t even need to understand graphite processing or Lindi Jumbo to get this. The same principle applies to all forms of mining. Not disastrous to any mine but the better the recovery the more revenue.
