I was reading an article where European markets were already looking for alternative graphite suppliers before the Chinese restrictions were implemented. This was due to the rise in shipping costs and the increased risk in shipping through the Middle East. They are looking at suppliers on the East coast of Africa which can ship down the southern tip of Africa avoiding the shipping risks through the Middle East.
